Gore Bay Aqua Sports offers Scuba opportunities from the beginning diver to the experienced diver. Our SDI instruction can take you from your first open water diving lesson through to Advanced and Dive Master,

Susan is an SDI open water Instructor. She has been diving since 1984 and has completed hundreds of dives all over the world including the North Channel. Over the past 17 years in the diving industry Susan has seen thousands of students and divers pass through her stores and this has given her the background to see you become a safe, competent and confident diver. She is also a certified Swimming and Aquafitness instructor.

Scuba Diving International (SDI) was created in 1999 and grew out of the success of there sister company Technical Diving International, which specializes in the more advanced disciplines of dive training. Both students and instructors have embraced the no nonsense approach that the SDI training system offers. We have streamlined the course materials to let students study the essential academics with an emphasis on practical diving skills learned in both the pool and open water environments. SDI is the only agency to require students to be taught with modern dive computers from the onset of training. SDI course materials are state-of-the-art; the materials are lavishly illustrated with photography and graphics. Diving is constantly changing. SDI staff is always looking forward and striving to be the innovators in scuba diving education. SDI focus is to make the experience of diving one that is enjoyed by every family member.

Courses Offered

Scuba Discovery $175.00
This course is designed to give you a taste of Scuba Diving. After some initial class room training you are taken on your first confined water dive. The price includes all the equipment you need. Scuba Discovery can be used as the first dive for your open water course. Minimum age 12 at the discretion of the instructor.

Inactive Diver Program $175.00 with gear $125.00 without
This course is designed to give the rusty diver a tune up. Participants must have a valid Certification card.

Skin Diver $60.00
This skin diver course gives you the basic use of Wetsuit, Mask, Snorkel and Fins. Appoximately a 2 hour course. Includes all equipment needed. Open to any age.

Full Open Water $550.00
This course, when completed awards you with the basic open water scuba diver certification. This certification enables you to dive internationally to a maximum depth of 60ft. Text book or online study is required before starting your in water training. Price includes all rental equipment for the duration of the course, study materials, Certification cards, air fills mask and snorkel. The only extra cost is the GST of 5%. The open water course consists of 4 training dives and 4 open water dives. No more than 2 dives can be completed in a day. You will need 4 days to complete the course. Training days need not be consecutive and can be arranged around your schedule. Minimum age 12 for this course.

Advanced Adventure Open Water $295.00
The Advanced Adventure Open Water course consists of 5 dives and gives you a taste of different types of diving. Included specialty dives will include Deep, Night and Advanced Buoyancy control plus 2 specialties picked by the student. Air fills, text books and certification cards are included in this course.

Rescue Diver $450.00
The Rescue diver course is designed to develop the knowledge and necessary skills for an individual to effectively perform diver rescues and assists, and administer first aid. This course take approximately 4 to 5 days. Course fees include all training materials, certification card and air fills. aster.
